  • The first computer was built at the University of Pennsylvania in 1946 and was called ENIAC (Electronic Numerical Integrator and Computer). ENIAC was the first tube computer and also the first computer capable of performing calculations. It was developed as part of the Manhattan Project, which was involved in the development of computers for the needs of military research. ENIAC was a huge machine that weighed more than 27 tons and contained more than 17,000 electronics. It was used to solve complex mathematical problems and calculations.
